Empress Nasi Goreng

Hope my "re-branding" doesn't cause too much confusion to anyone

Yay! Fried Rice! :) Cute new "branding", Cath :D
As soon as I saw this, I KNEW you were making a reference to this ad ... it's too, too funny :-D Good idea!
Terima kasih, Connie.
No wonder it sounds familiar =D
It's a good one Em... (for Empresss ...or Emu)
I like that Em for short! Thanks Melisa.

A very original title, well so was "Emu with a Clue". I am glad I noticed this update or I think I would have been confused.

Also whoever came up with this ad needs an award - it is a brilliant ad. The Collingwood FC version a good as well, but then I do follow Collingwood so I do have some bias there.

I am going with both titles for now until everyone catches up with the change.

Pretty sure this ad has won awards. Don't get the Collingwood ad up here in Rugby League-ville. Will try and remember to look it up on youtube.

I thought it probably had won some awards. I believe the man playing the dad has done well out of the ad too.
I don't watch TV so I hadn't seen that ad before, but I knew it was you because of the Indonesia reference. Now that I've seen your clip of the ad, I think it's brilliant.

Cute one Empress!

Thanks for the "clues" to your new identity !!

The queen is pleased with your coronation. 8:-)
Oh I love that ad. Brings back memories....it made me laugh a few years back...made me laugh today aswell. Thanks
They are showing sequel ads now and also saw something about a tv show!!! Think that is taking it a bit far.
It has been on for years, Maju, and seems very well known. Remember teaching some Year 7 students about food and as soon as I mentioned "nasi goreng", everyone started tittering and making remarks about the Emperor Nasi Goreng and the rabbits etc.
Glad you like it. Did you watch the video?
There is a sequel to the ad showing on tv here now, JM, where the father gets called in for an interview with the teacher over someone else the kid has said in class. Probably on the Telstra website.
A TV show? Oh boy!

That should be interesting, not necessarily successful but interesting to see.

You have just managed to kill me (from sheer laughter) I love the new identity!

Its GOLD

Owh great identity! New voxers might be surprised to find that your are a Native Australian :)
Glad you like it! (Hope that's not a Footy Show reference ;))
Thanks, Liya. Most Australians will work it out I think as they will be familiar with the tv commercial (which is very popular here).
alas, the IT dept blocked youtube :(
i think the new rebranding is great! its fresh!
It is blocked at my work too. :( Basically it is about a father who is caught on the hop when his son asks him about the Great Wall of China. he fumbles and says that it was built by the Emperor Nasi goreng to keep the rabbits out of China. Then it cuts to a shot of the little boy getting up and giving a speech to his class on the Great Wall of China.
Hail the new empress of Sydney!
I was wondering where the name came from. I've always thought, whatever you say about Telstra, their ads have been excellent. Who remembers the Goggomobile? & the man who breaks his fly zipper fortunately close to a phone box?
Thanks, PB. The gogo mobile was for Yellow pages, wasn't it?
Strictly yes, it was yellow pages, but I've always assumed a connection, or similar sense of humour.
